What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Whether you come visit us in Salinas, Monterey, or Hollister, you will always be greeted by a friendly face. Our offices are welcoming for patients of all ages. Before your appointment begins, we will first have you fill out some light paperwork.
- To begin your initial appointment, we will have a conversation to get to know you better. We will go over the paperwork you filled out and ask you some questions about your hearing and what your goals are.
- After our discussion we will examine the inside of your ears. We want to ensure your ear canal and eardrum are clear and healthy before proceeding with the hearing test.
- Then we will begin the hearing portion of your exam. During the hearing test you will put on a pair of specialized headphones and sit inside our sound booth. We will play a variety of sounds that range in frequency and volume.
- After we’ve examined your hearing, we will go over the results of your audiogram and discuss what kind of options could help you.
The evaluation will take between 30-40 minutes. Please also allow time for a discussion with the audiologist to review your results and ask questions.
