Great family fun at The Park Lane's Chili Cook Off

We had a great time in Monterey on Sunday at The Park Lane Chili Cook Off. There were 7 participants in the contest: Valley Hearing Center, Visiting Nurses Association, Executive Director Greg Becker, Monterey Library Bookmobile, resident Bridgett, and 2 chefs from the Park Lane.

A tie was declared for the best chili and the kudos went to Visiting Nurse Association’s own Leta Messinger and The Park Lane’s Greg Becker. The judges were a chef from The Park Lane, a resident, and the enthusiastic tasters of the day.

It was a sunny day and the vintage car show was also a great success. Many people turned out to look at classic American cars, try some great chili, and enjoy some great food made available by the staff.

Even the kids had things to do, including playing in a bounce house on the lawn, visiting a petting zoo, and enjoying pony rides on “Oreo”.  The Park Lane knows how to please the whole family!

All proceeds from the day went to charity.
